Formula

Converted = Amount × (rate_to ÷ rate_from), USD-based
  • rate_to — units of the target currency per USD
  • rate_from — units of the source currency per USD

Worked example

Converting $100 from USD to EUR at a 0.92 reference rate gives about €92. Because reference rates are mid-market, a bank or card will quote a little less after its fee.
